ROLE OVERVIEW:
This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round .
This position is responsible for moving freight, stock, or other materials over short distances from railcars to trucks.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)
# Uses safe work procedures that comply with safety policies and regulations.
# Move freight, stock and other materials by hand or by using heavy equipment. Drive vehicles or operate machines or equipment to complete work assignments or to assist workers in a safe and efficient manner while complying with all federal, state, local and company policies.
# Assist in performing or scheduling repairs or preventive maintenance of vehicles or other equipment. Sometimes performing these at elevated platforms with heavy tools.
# Load or unload railcars or trucks by operating heavy equipment and/or hand tools.
# Unloads and inspects incoming materials and verifies receipts.
# Keeps records of materials received.
# Keeps facility yard clean and organized.
# Maintain & clean vehicles, machinery and other equipment and recommends safety improvements.
# Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance including attending training.
# Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements) As a successful Rail Material Handler, you will have:
# High School diploma or General Education Degree, or equivalent experience.
# Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
# Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays
